It’s Not You – It’s Me
It’s Not You – It’s Me
I had posted a self-promoting video on my website. A friend, a highly critical one albeit tore me to shreds in an email regarding its content. I do open the video with a disclaimer that my style is not for everyone. What was brought to my attention is the focus I place on how great I think I am. I want some feedback on this please.
I am simply the sum total of my family, friends and peers that has been pushed through the Playdough Fun Factory of life to create me, Tooch! I am full of wonderful flaws that make me, me. I am far from perfect.
She suggested that I explain the benefits I bring to the table.
- That I do know the local market as well or better than my competitors but I leave that opinion in the testimonials from my clients.
- I did sell her home while half the homes on the market in her neighborhood did not sell last year.
- I am a life-long resident that gives back to the community.
Those things are what I do and what is expected of me. The stuff I “Brag About” in her words was hard work that I love to do. It is just the icing on my great life here.
Self Serving or Self Promoting? I have a passion for being the best. Sorry if it offended anyone.
