Spoke Folk Cyclery of Healdsburg & Cloverdale
Established in 1976, Spoke Folk Cyclery provided a full service bike shop for all aspects of cycling, both recreational and sport. Back then they were located where El Sombrero Restaurant. It was a gathering place for enthusiasts and the big deal back then were the Dry Creek Valley Time Trials.
The business was then purchased by the very young Tony Pastene who ushered in mountain biking and reinvigorated “The Healdsburg Wheelman”. I was racing mountain bikes at that point and Tony was always someone that I relied on. He had knowledge, passion and connections in the cycling world.
Tony sold it to Richard who you will see in the video which could make the video outdated, not. I found that Richard’s knowledge of the Wine Country roads made him the perfect go-to for advice on organized rides just like Tony. It has been a seamless transfer every time with the now extremely older Tony at the helm. (let him know that I said that)
Spoke Folk is still as solid as ever and an asset to our community (now Cloverdale too) just like Tony, welcome home!
