Three Sweetheart Hikes
Healdsburg Area Hikes
Is A Hike Really A Date? With the weather hitting that sweetheart spot in our lives where it just couldn’t get better, I have a few outdoor ideas. These Healdsburg area hikes are a bit challenging but there is nothing like being air lifted out together to create great memories.
- Hike to the top of Mt. St. Helena. My buddy Otto Kobler says it’s a great date hike. Park in the Robert Louis Stevens State Park lot and hike up from there.
- Oat Hill Mine Trail. After lunch in Calistoga park at the end of the main street through town at the corner of Silverado Trail and the trail head is right there at the eastern side of that three way intersection. Book a spa treatment before you head up so you can soak afterward.
- Armstrong Woods mountain bike ride to Healdsburg via Mill Creek. This is a must do once in your life and for most once is enough. Drop off the back side of the park into Austin Creek and ride the fire trails back to town. It gets brutally cold down in the canyons and the water crossings are three feet deep this time of year with a few wild pig chases thrown in but it is well worth the effort.
- Parkland Farms Ridge Trail. This is a great little loop at the north end of Healdsburg that only takes an hour or so with vista views.
Whatever you do have fun, be safe and send me a post card.
